My Story
My story is simple. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. I got my degree in education from UCF and started teaching in 2000. Things were quite different then and I have seen many changes to our education system throughout the years with an emphasis being placed on standardization rather than the talents and needs of the individual student. This has led me to dream of a better way to educate our children.
One thing I realized along the way is that I love a child’s inquisitive nature. I love that everything is a learning experience and there is an abundance of potential. I believe that education is about possibilities. Every child has an inquisitive, curious mind, and I believe education should nurture and develop this. Over the years I have seen an increase in standards based learning and a decrease in creative thinking and problem solving. Children are expected to memorize information, but are not empowered to fully process or understand it. I believe wholeheartedly that education should create thinkers and producers rather than just consumers.
To me, education has so many possibilities and Boundless is a place where all this is possible.
Meet the Teacher
Ms. Prospect
As a parent, I couldn’t be more proud of my three amazing children and the beautiful people they have become. I have two sweet independent girls and a son who is soon to be finishing highschool. I love living in the beautiful state of Florida and love all that it has to offer. Being outdoors and on the water is one of my favorite things. I believe in living a healthy lifestyle and the transformative power of yoga. Yoga has had a huge impact on my life, teaching me the power of breath and the connection it has to our mindfulness. It is through this mindfulness and all the experiences as a mother and teacher that has led me to this point.
